The Palarong Pambansa 2024, hosted in Cebu, attracted numerous high-profile figures, highlighting the event’s national importance. President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. attended the opening ceremony, underscoring the government’s commitment to nurturing young athletes and promoting sports development across the Philippines. Although Vice President Sara Duterte did not attend the opening ceremony, she was seen at the Basilica of Sto. Niño, lighting a candle for the success and safety of the games, and she visited the Cebu City Medical Center.
