SOGOD, Cebu — A tragic incident occurred amid the heavy rains and flooding caused by Typhoon Tino as a mother and her young child were swept away in Liloan. Their bodies were recovered on November 4, with the child’s body found some time after, highlighting the heartbreaking delay.
The victims have been identified as Vivian Rose Lamarca, 30, originally from La Union, and her 3-year-old daughter Avianna Keith Lamarca Arnado. The family had recently bought a house in Liloan and transferred there earlier this year. Their wake is currently being held in Sogod. Her husband, a Cebuano, is currently in Dubai and is expected to return to the Philippines tonight to be with his family.
Local authorities have reminded residents to stay safe, avoid dangerous areas, and remain vigilant during the typhoon.
